My great grandmother used to tell many stories of her childhood and the hardships her family endured. She was forever affected by those lean years of her life and was a hard fast frugal person till the day she passed from this earth. She lived below her means, paid cash for purchases, never allowed her family to be in debt, grew a garden, sewed her family’s clothing and reused anything possible.

Her favorite saying was “use it up, wear it out, make it do or do without.”
