If you are handy with tools and like to build things, check out how to build a hutch out of pallets. This is one of the nicest looking pallet projects I have seen.
There doesn’t seem to be a whole lot of plans for it but Brian Coons who built it does have a sketch showing the measurements. This piece turned out really nice and would look great in any homestead. It has a bit of a rustic look to it but I really like it and to have been made with some free pallets, well it just doesn’t get much better than free. This could work in a bar area or the den or family room. Or even in the kitchen or dinning room. With lots of display area on top and loads of storage space on the bottom this could serve many purposes. If it turns out well you may need to make another one for somewhere else in your house. It is a nice hutch and I love the square of chicken wire for that farmhouse look.
