Canning Cherry Almond Preserves

Since cherries have been fairly reasonable this year in my area, I went looking for a way to preserve some of so I can enjoy them if next year they go back to being unaffordable. I found this recipe for cherry almond preserves from Taste of Home and quit looking for ideas. This is the one!

Can you imagine the sweet taste of cherries with the almond undertones. Scrumptious. On toast, on biscuits, bagels, english muffins heck on a spoon sounds good. I love that once you have your cherries pitted and actually begin making the preserves in less than one hour you are finished and you end up with 11 half pints of preserves. Not bad for an hours work.
