DIY Dog Water Safety Life Jacket

Dog Life Jackets and Vests protect dogs around pools, lakes, and on boats by providing ultimate buoyancy and high visibility.

I have 3 dogs  making it harder to keep an eye on all three at the same time which has pushed my decision to either MAKE or BUY each one of my precious pooches a life water safety jacket this year.

My goal is it secures around his entire chest so the jacket does not slip or move out of place but not restrict movement .

The dog life jacket will have a handle on back which makes lifting him from the water very easy.

A bright colored material will help me spot him more quickly.

Once wearing the life jacket a dog may realize that he doesn’t have to swim as hard with a life jacket on.

Hopefully, this will make the dog feel safe, secure and comfortable and more likely to go into the water.

My dog Scout was injured when he was young and almost log his leg.

Our amazing Vet was able to save his leg but he only has about 65% usage of it.

Scout does not realize this but wants to play with our other 2 dogs. I  feel he just needs a little extra protection in the water.
