DIY Inexpensive Solar Heater For A Pool

If you have a pool and would like to heat it using the sun this is a way to do it. You would need a pump which would use electricity but should heat the pool for far less than a regular pool heater.

This set up is basically poly pipe on a wooden board that has been painted black and you should have a glass or plastic glass cover over the poly pipe to help get the most heat possible.

Then a pump is attached and it pumps the water through the poly pipe which gets very hot from the sun and so the water that you are pumping through it will come out heated and by pumping the pool water through the poly pipe and back into the pool it will heat your pool with the heat of the sun.

So once it is set up the only energy you would be using would be the electricity to run the pump. Bnaiver on Instructables  shares the info on this diy pool heater.
