Garden Compost and Chickens Working Together

Garden Compost and Chickens Working Together is a system of having a compost pile within the enclosed chicken run. It creates a system of chickens feeding upon kitchen scraps, weeds, bugs and grass clippings. As the chickens eat, they poop and fertilize the land within the chicken run.

This is a great addition to adding a food source for a flock of chicken along with chicken feed. I am not fully convinced that a flock of chickens can fully eat themselves on compost, bugs and kitchen scraps unless you have a produce section from a grocery store is giving you all their blemished fruits and vegetables.

We learn from each other to further our homesteading knowledge and experience beyond trail and error.
