I think everyone at my house loves brownies. I make them a lot and I usually alternate between chocolate and peanut butter brownies. Now I saw this homemade lemon brownies recipe and knew it would be added to the list of brownies I make. I know a lot of folks like lemon so I am sure many will want to make lemon brownies.

These are really good. The recipe is from So Good Its Gawne. The recipe make an 8 x 8 inch pan. At my house we don’t even think about wasting time making any thing in an 8 x 8 inch pan, as a matter of fact I don’t even own an 8 x 8 inch pan.  So when I make these I do two things different. I double the recipe and use my lasagna pan.

Then instead of the glaze called for I make cream cheese frosting and add a tablespoon of lemon juice to it. It really kicks the lemon up a notch and the cream cheese frosting is always perfect on brownies. It is super delicious on banana bread too, try it sometime.

If you are ever making these brownies and using the cream cheese frosting and want to dress them up for a special meal, sprinkle a little grated lemon zest over the top after you frost it. The bright sunny yellow announces the flavor and looks pretty too.
