If you have four legged children you want to protect them and safeguard them from ingesting anything that may harm them. Here is a list of pet poisons, what problems they cause and their toxicity ranking. I think every one knows that you shouldn’t give chocolate to animals but did you know that grapes and raisins can cause kidney failure in dogs? Even onions and garlic can be toxic.
A lot of items on this list I did not know about. I know I used to put my dogs pills when she needed them inside a green grape. She loved grapes and I only ever gave her one when I needed her to take a pill thank goodness because I did not know they could kill her. This is a nice list to help you keep your fur babies safe.
Vet Street shares this info and since I know I gave my dog a grape sometimes I thought the last statement in the article sounded like what I should have done. “While dogs can be notorious for refusing to take their own medications”, Wismer adds, “we sometimes say that the surest way to pill a dog is to drop one on the floor.” I never thought of that trick.
