Off Grid Manual Well Pump

If you are off grid or planning to go off grid you may be thinking about a well for your water needs. Having a well is a great idea but you should also be thinking about a manual well pump. While having your own well is a good step to that independence, you also need to think about the fact that if your well pump runs off of electricity, then if it goes so goes the water. If you are going to depend on your well for water you may want to think about a manual well pump. That way if your electric pump can’t bring up the water, you can still pump it up by hand. In this article by Off Grid Homestead they give you two brands of manual well pumps they looked and tell you the reasons why they chose the Bison brand.

Bison sells both shallow well pumps and deep well pumps. So whichever type of well you have Bison has a pump for it and if your well is already dug, the pumps can be a DIY project and you can install it yourself. I will add a link to Bison below and if you are interested they have videos to show how the pumps are installed.
