Survival Skills: Scavenge A Vehicle For Survival – What can you find to save you

The Prepper Journal website shares how to find parts within a car to help survive a disaster.

Nobody knows when or where an emergency can happen or if it can turn life threatening.

I still remember this story that aired on my local nightly news back in 2006.

The Kim Family ( James 35 years old, Kati 30 years old, Penelope 4 years, Sabine 7 months) were lost in the remote southwestern Oregon wilderness for 11 days while driving the back roads.

They had few supplies and While stranded, the family stayed warm using the car heater, then burned tires when they ran out of gas.

James Kim walked 16 miles trying to get help for his family after 9 days while his wife and two daughters remained in the vehicle.

James Kim was later found dead, frozen to death.

His family was found two days later, alive.

This story has stuck in the back of my mind for years and is one of the reasons why this website was began.

Being prepared or at least knowing how to scavenge from the resources you have around you can give you a fighting chance.
