“Waste not, Want not” as my grandmother always said… everything has a purpose and can be used in one form or another.

Ground eggshells make a wonderful  nontoxic abrasive for those tough-to-clean pots, pans and hard to reach glasses . Mix them with a little soapy water for a powerful clean.

To sweeten your coffee, dry eggshells in a 250-degree over for 30 minutes.

Add some crushed eggshells to ground coffee before brewing it to make it taste less bitter. When you’re done, toss the grounds and shells on your compost heap !

When planting seeds, mix crushed eggshells in your mixture. The assortment of shells and seeds will discourage birds and other small animals from eating your seeds.
