Ayam Cemani AKA The Lamborghini Of Poultry

This chicken breed Ayam Cemani is the neatest bird. It is from Indonesia and it has the most beautiful black feathers that are so dark but have a sheen of purple and green that makes them looks like feather jewels. The bird is black inside and out. Even its bones and organs are black. In Indonesia the black chicken is used by occultists in their magical spells. While it is illegal to import them to the US some folks have managed to do so and they sell them.

The birds are very expensive. One place that sells them is Green Fire Farms and a juvenile pair goes for $1,999.00 and they require a 100 dollar deposit while you wait. In Australia at Chicken Sales they go for $2500 per pair.

The hens lay around 60 to 100 eggs per year and have a lifespan of up to 8 years. Their eggs are brownish in color. So for someone who would like to go into breeding them for profit, it looks like it could be fairly profitable.

There may even be some chicken fanciers that would like a pair of these Goth beauties wandering the back yard.
