Ingredients:

1 egg

2 cups flour

1/4 cup butter

1/4 cup sugar

1/8 teaspoon salt

3/4 cup milk or water

3 teaspoons baking powder

1 cup berries, washed and drained (your choice of strawberries, blueberries, raspberries, blackberries, cranberries, boysenberries or cherries) Cherries are not a berry but work well in the recipe.

Directions:

1. Cream (mix) 1/4 cup butter with 1/4 cup sugar.

2. Add 1 egg well beaten, 3/4 cup milk or water, 2 cups flour sifted with 3 teaspoons of baking powder, and 1/8 teaspoon of salt.

3. Add 1 cup washed and drained berries. Beat well.

4. Divide into greased and floured muffin pans. Bake 20 minutes in a moderate oven. (350 degrees)
