Biodegradable Coffee Cups Embedded With Seeds Grow Into Trees

Take a look at this concept of biodegradable coffee cups embedded with seeds grow into trees.

Recycling materials has become a regular part of life, and for good reason. With so many people on earth using so much material, it only makes sense to breakdown and reuse these materials so that the earth isn’t damaged more than it needs to be. This is why more and more, companies are using recyclable materials and reusing their own provisions.

One of the companies at the forefront of this ecologically friendly movement is a startup called Reduce Reuse Grow. They’re known for creating biodegradable coffee cups. However, their innovation doesn’t end there.

These coffee cups also have seeds within the walls of the cup, so that when you’re done with your morning cup of coffee, you can plant the cup and it will become a tree. If you don’t have a place to plant it, you can send the cup back to the company, where they will plant it for you.

The company had to do quite a bit of research to discover which tree seeds wouldn’t be damaged by being in proximity to the heat that coffee lets off when it’s placed in the cup. Thankfully, they’ve found several seeds that are native to California that are working well and thriving.

At the moment, this project is being supported by a Kickstarter campaign. For those interested in learning more about the product, they’ll find a video for the product on the guide page. There, you will also find a link for the Kickstarter campaign.
