Creativity and innovation are nothing but inestimable virtues. A lady was able to convert a condemned dresser into a beautiful Ice Box. It sounds incredible, doesn’t it? Go through it and see things for yourself. First of all, she had to dismantle the old dresser. She only left the frame.
To do the magic, the materials she used are;
¼ inch wood paneling
sandpaper
Icebox sign
Ice Box hardware kits
wood glue
1 by 3 inch boards
The tools required for this job are a Kreg Jig, a drill, a nail gun and a table saw.
Making an icebox herself gave her the opportunity to use the kind of wood she really likes. Apart from that, she already has an idea of the toughness and durability of the ice box since she made it.
If you cost all the materials she used and compare it to how much she may likely buy a ready-made ice box that may be of lower quality, you will find out that a ready-made one is much more expensive.
It may even cost twice or thrice the cost of all the materials she used.
You should also consider customization. Building the ice box herself also gave her the opportunity to build it exactly the way she wanted. That is customization. If she had gone to buy a ready-made one, she may not like all its features.
