How To Build a Simple Fire Pit
This simple step by step tutorial of how to build a fire pit is an inexpensive do it yourself project that can bring warmth to nighttime backyard gathering. In choosing a location for your outdoor fire pit, it is a good idea to choose a spot at least 25 feet away from structures (house, garden shed or garage) or overhanging trees. An average fire pit is from forty to forty five inches across and sixteen to thirty inches high to guard against wind whipping up embers.
Gather a small list of supplies to get ready for this project including: stone pavers or bricks, gravel and shovel.
For safety’s sake: place gravel inside the fire pit at least three inches deep and a gravel ring outside the fire pit to prevent embers from catching your yard on fire.
