If you enjoy hunting from a tree stand you might like to build your own tree stand with these free plans. This is a very sturdy looking stand and seems safer with ladders and a landing at the 6 foot level before going up to the box which is at 15 feet.
The top is boxed in for safety and as wind block but the top panels can be removed for bow hunting and/or to be stored for the season. Since the stand is meant to stay you will want to build with treated lumber for years of use. This looks a lot easier to climb up than what my husband has. He has a commercial tree stand that he has to kind of wrap around the tree and then climb the tree.
Unfortunately we don’t own any property where he can hunt and so he needs a portable stand that he can take with him when he goes home. But for anyone that has the land and hunts on it from a tree stand this one looks like it would be a nice one and the article quotes a final cost of around one hundred and fifty dollars, so not super expensive and I think worth it to not have to put it up and take it down all the time.
