This is a great diy project building a deck that has a bench height stone veneer surround that provides loads of seating. I really like that it is open for view but semi enclosed. The stone veneer looks real and is much lighter than real but is very durable and should last for many years. This deck is built on two levels and provides access to both the sliding glass doors and the other level goes to the back door so if you would only need yours to work for the sliding doors you could probably build only that part of the project. This looks like it would cost thousands of dollars due to how real the stone veneer looks. Family Handyman shares instructions and many photos to help you build your own.
They also share pro tips so be sure to read everything. The walls have concrete caps on them for seating or container plants as seen in the picture and there are instructions for making your own caps that should help save money over buying them. This deck is going to be beautiful and you will want it to last many many years so you should use very good wood that is appropriate for outdoors. The one in the article is built from cedar which is a very durable wood and great for outdoor use.
