Butchering a Pig – Very Graphic

Butchering a Pig

Learning how to butcher a pig is an intense, very graphic homesteading farming chore that needs instruction to do it properly. People who raise farm animals for meat to fill their freezers for food storage are faced with the chore of butchering.

In my opinion, when people have first hand experience of killing and butchering an animal they appreciate it more and do not take it for granted. It is easy to buy meat wrapped in plastic on a grocery store shelf but knowing where it comes from, how it was raised and butchering it takes time, effort and a strong self sufficiency mindset.
