Canning Peas The Cold Pack Way

        For folks that love peas here is the way to put them up so you can eat them even after the short harvest in the spring. Some people do plant again in the fall but most only plant in early spring as peas will pretty much quit producing after summer starts. While canned peas are not as good as fresh picked peas the home-grown and canned peas are better tasting that store-bought in my opinion.

      Since the season for peas is so short I know some people only plant a few pea plants so they can eat all that grows but if you know how to can them you could grow a lot of peas since they will be done and you can use that garden space for something else. When canning peas I think the best are sugar or some of the edible Chinese peas.
