Great article from Mom With A Prep that tells us how to make our own canning and pickling salt out of regular kosher salt. This is nice since canning salt is considered by most stores to be a seasonal item so good luck finding it in the winter. But in the winter is when I like to can beans, turkey cause it goes on sale after the holidays and what ever other meats or veggies I might score a good deal on. Thanks to this how to we can still can even if we have no canning salt. Kosher salt is always available at the store.
