This cast iron skillet sausage mac and cheese recipe is a one pot meal that is delicious and frugal.
Being a foodie is like eating joy. Everything that you eat feels like an adventure. One of the favorite foods of many epicureans includes Mac and Cheese with Sausage and Bell Peppers, smothered in marinara sauce and cream. It is a simple recipe and can be prepared in 45 minutes. All the ingredients of the recipe are cooked in one deep cast iron skillet and there is as such no technicality involved in making this meal.
The ingredients used for the recipe are:
• pork sausage
• bell red pepper, diced
• green bell pepper, diced
• dried elbow macaroni (half a package, 8 oz)
• marinara sauce
• half and half cream
• mozzarella cheese
Initially sausages are cooked on a medium heat followed by the addition of all the other ingredients to the same pan. The fat of the sausages is drained off and diced bell peppers, dried elbow macaroni, water and marinara sauce are added to them. Cook everything together until the macaroni is tender. Adding cheese to the pan is the last step.
Once the cheese melts you can serve the hot and delicious meal to your family and friends.
