This recipe is from Rock recipes and is a good one to make ahead. For folks that make Christmas cookies every year, you already know it is a lot of work to make a great assortment of cookies. I love making cookies that can be frozen because then I can start baking my cookies much earlier and putting the ones that can be frozen in the freezer. That way there are not so many to make closer to Christmas when I have shopping and gift wrapping and a million other things to do.

These can freeze. I like to make all my butter cookies ahead of time and freeze them too. The butter seems to mellow and taste so much better if the cookies have some time to age in the freezer. These would also work for any cookie exchanges you may be in. When it’s time to exchange, you can just pull your cookies from the freezer and make up the tray to trade. Easy peasy.
