Chicken Tractor – How to Build Mobile Foraging Enclosure Project

The Lazy B Farm website share how they built a simple shaded chicken tractor project.

Chicken tractors allow chickens to free range within an enclosed shelter.

Chickens that have the ability to forage on fresh grass, weeds, herbs and bugs are happier and it lowers their feed needs.

If the chicken tractor is left in one area for too long all all the fresh foraging elements will be stripped away pretty quickly.

Unlike fixed coops, chicken tractors do not have floors so there is no need to clean them out and their poop deposits fertilizes the soil organically.

This process echos a natural symbiotic cycle.
