There is a huge push all across the country to reduce or completely eliminate the plastic shopping bags from stores. While they were long thought to be a very good replacement for the old style paper bag, however, it did not take very long for people to begin disliking them for a number of reasons.
Materials and Tools Needed:
Sheets (I used two twin top sheets, which yielded four shopping totes)
Large sheet of paper (I used leftover Christmas wrap, but you can piece together something or use brown craft paper)
Rotary cutter and mat
Iron and ironing board
Soon people discovered reusable shopping bags and this really caught on, but the store bought versions were pretty boring. So, this lead the DIY crowd to begin coming up with their own bags and this project is a great example of a way to repurpose old sheets.
This Do It Yourself project is a good idea for anyone wanting to put an end to their need for those plastic shopping bags every time they go shopping. All of the stuff needed can easily be picked up at any local craft or discount store. All of the information is presented in a way that makes it really easy to read and understand. It does not require a whole lot of skill, but the ability to sew would make it much easier to do.
