A candle with a flame, a battery operated votive candle or a solar powered candle are all options to create light for tin lanterns.  (Hint: don’t use a fire flame in the recycled paint can lantern)

This is great or outdoor mood lighting in the summer and an interesting Christmas garland in the winter.  For indoor Christmas garland, using color changing flameless LED votive candles would be beautiful and festive.
