Donating Hair For Kids With Cancer, How To Choose Which Organization

If you or someone you know like to donate your hair when you get it cut and have been or will be donating it soon. You may want to read this article to help you decide which organization you really want to donate to. I know so many people that have donated to Locks of Love with the assumption that they give wigs to children with cancer. I think we hear this simply by word of mouth as someone will tells us about it and they are saying the wigs go to cancer kids but they were also told. Turns out that Locks of Love do not provide wigs for children with cancer. The only provide wigs to folks with permanent hair loss.    Locks of Love does specify that most of their wigs go to kids with alopecia. If you want to donate for that then Locks of Love is the place to donate to but if you really want to give your hair to a child with cancer there are organizations that do exactly that. There are a few of them like Wigs For Kids (provides Hair Replacement Systems and support for children who have lost their hair due to chemotherapy, radiation therapy, Alopecia, Trichotillomania, burns and other medical issues) , Pantene Beautiful Lengths (provides wigs to women with cancer), Children With Hair loss ( a resource for ALL CHILDREN who have medically-related hair loss.) are three other organizations to consider. So next time you plan to donate or suggest donating to someone else you will have a better way to choose which place to donate depending on what you want done with your hair.
