This is very interesting chicken system using your chickens. This was used during the time of victory gardens to maximize food production and take some of the strain off the country in the area of food production. They used the chickens to fertilize and till the ground on one side of the coops yard while the other half was fenced off to allow it to compost and for the earthworms to build up the soil.
