Essential food, nuts and energy bars, canned fruit and a portable can opener

Water

Alternative lighting source – flashlight, glow sticks, solar lantern, extra batteries

Blankets, sleeping bag

Warm Clothing – sweaters, socks, coats, boots, hats, pants (in case you are wearing a skirt)

Tools – jumper cables, gloves, ice scraper, shovel, flares or reflective triangles

AM/FM radio to listen to traffic reports and emergency messages

Cat litter or sand for better tire traction

First Aid Kit

A fully-charged cell phone and phone charger (you may be out of range for cell service though) you may also want a solar charger just in case.
