When a child has allergies to nuts the world can seem like a very risky place for the childs parents. You have to worry if your child is not in your sight at all times and even dining out can create a sense of fear that someone somewhere back in that kitchen you can’t see into will mess up and your child will end up in a severe allergy reaction.
Unfortunately at this time the epi pen is the only safe way to save a child from an allergic reaction and so you have no choice but to always have one on hand. But did you know that a change in your childs weight could affect how well the epi you have might work?
There are a few things to watch for when it comes to your epi pens and Cincinnati Children’s Blog has an article outlining some of those things and the answers to them. If you or your child need an epi pen you may want to read this article just to be on the safe side.
Also as users of epi pens know the pens are not exactly what you could call inexpensive. For folks that find it not covered by insurance or with large co-pays you may want to see our post on How to Get Free EpiPens.
