This Eucalyptus essential oil shower melts to clear congestion recipe should be in every homesteaders natural medicine cabinet.
One of the nicest additions to a hot shower is a eucalyptus melt. You would be surprised at how easy they are to make and what a difference they can offer to any aching back, stiff shoulders or muscle pain.
It has long been known that the eucalyptus is a well-known anti-inflammatory, decongestant, antiseptic, deodorant and antibacterial aid. Not to mention that it smells amazing!
Any homesteader will love how easy these are to make. To make these eucalyptus melts you’ll need:
• 1 cup of cornstarch
• 4 Tablespoons of water
• 6 drops of essential oil (Eucalyptus)
• Optional drop/s of green food coloring
• An ice cube tray
In a large bowl mix the cornstarch, the essential oil and 1-2 drops of the green food coloring. Add water one tablespoon at a time slowly. Mix together thoroughly. Use a spoon to put the mixture into the ice cube tray and freeze for 1 hour.
After 1 hour, you can remove them from the freezer and store your eucalyptus melts in a cool dry place. If you added a lot of water, you may want to keep them in the freezer for storage but if they are dryer, they can be stored at room temperature.
When you’re ready to use them, take them and lay them on the floor of your shower. As the hot water hits them and heats up the room, they will gradually dissolve. What you’ll love about them is the scent and their ability to truly relax your muscles.
