If you are raising rabbits for meat, you may want to feed your rabbits a more natural diets so that you can avoid gmo grains and other things. A lot of the pellet foods you can buy to feed rabbit with had gmo grain by products in them along with animal products.
Rabbits don’t eat other animals so why is it even in the pellets? Most folks that are raising meat rabbits are doing so to get away from farmed meat that is full of gmos, antibiotics, hormones and other stuff we really don’t want to eat. Feeding a more natural diet to your rabbits will keep these things out of their food and thus out of our meat. As an added bonus if you grow or forage the more natural foods you can save money over feeding the pellets.

They tell us which ones are available at what time of year so you will know what to look for whether it is spring of winter. Lots of the natural foods that you can feed to the rabbits can be grown in your garden.
Clover makes a great cover crop for winter gardens and in spring you can cut the clover and feed it to the rabbits as you prepare the garden beds for spring planting. Most of us will still need to supplement with the pellets but at least feeding more natural foods to the rabbits will make a healthier meat and save us money of feed. The rabbits I am sure will enjoy a more natural diet as well.
