A recipe for a delicious fruit salad covered in a poppy seed dressing. The nice thing about this salad is that you can use what ever fruits you like the best or choose what is in season. At my house we love made with strawberries, blueberries and yellow mango. You can make it with any fresh fruits that you like. The dressing makes the salad really delicious and it is perfect for get togethers or pot lucks as well as for dessert at the dinner table. It even travels to work in a half pint jar for lunch.
OMG Chocolate Desserts shares this recipe and I made one change to the dressing which you can use or not. The recipe calls for sour cream. I switched it out for vanilla greek yogurt. I made it with the sour cream the first time and it was great but the vanilla yogurt gives the salad a parfait touch and it is so yummy. This is easy to make, the only work is peeling and cutting the fruit. Then the dressing is mixed in a bowl and stirred into the salad. I like to put it in the fridge for a couple of hours to let the flavors become friends before eating.
I have added walnut pieces to this a few times and that always goes over good so you are not limited to just fruit, you can add nut pieces if you like, I always double the recipe if I am making it for home so that it can be taken for lunch the next day. This is a great way to serve fresh fruit.
