Grilled cake donuts with fruit make the perfect dessert for any time of year, but you’ll surprise everyone when you arrange them into a flag display next year on the 4th of July!
You don’t even have to make the donuts, you can simply buy them from the store, then grill them at home to make them taste better. Ingredients are as simple as buying the donuts, and strawberries and blueberries. Yes, this is a short cut – normally we encourage homemade but sometimes you can cheat just a bit.

Once you’ve grilled the donuts to make them darker, you wash and dry your berries. The next step is to artfully arrange the in a colorful display of deliciousness. You can use a cookie sheet and parchment paper as the base.
The blueberries, raspberries, strawberries, blackberries are sprinkled upon refreshing scoops of Vanilla ice cream and cut in half cake doughnuts.
