This step by step tutorial of how to make a homemade 5 gallon bucket fish trap project is simple and inexpensive to make. It allows for a wide opening for the fish to swim into and then narrows so it can not find it’s way out.
While many fishermen may argue that the only true way to fish is to use a rod and reel, there are plenty of us that don’t have the necessary time or skill to catch fish all day on the lake.
This do it yourself building project can be fairly easily if you have some basic cutting skills and some experience with a dremel and a wire cutters. By following the schematic down below, you can make your own fish trap with a relatively low budget and only a small amount of time and effort.
You can have the whole project completed within 30 minutes and have the trap placed in the spot of your choosing in your favorite lake, luring the fish you want into your sweet trap. All you need is a 5 gallon bucket with a lid, some zip ties, hardware cloth, and some parachute cord. The instructions are easy to follow and you’ll soon have your trap working hard for you.
