Homemade Big Batch Laundry Soap Recipe

Homemade Big Batch Laundry Soap Recipe

This homemade big batch laundry soap recipe is a very large amount that should last a family of four well over six months. This dry laundry soap mix only takes a 2 tablespoons per load washed in warm water. You can store it in another container besides a 5 gallon bucket with a screw top lid, I recommended it because it such a versatile tool.

Ingredients For Homemade Big Batch Laundry Soap Recipe:

” 1 ” Box  20 Mule Team Borax

” 3 ” Bars  Zote Laundry Bar Soap

” 1 ” Five Gallon Bucket with Screw Top Lid

” 1 ” Box  Arm & Hammer Washing Soda

Optional Ingredients:

Your Favorite Essential Oil  – customize to scent
Oxyclean  – Personally I keep it separated and only add it to wash loads that really need it.

Tips:

The FINER you can grate your Zote laundry soap bars into flakes the quicker it will dissolve in your washing machine.

If you have a problem locating Washing Soda, check  Amazon.com for Sodium Carbonate (Soda Ash). It’s the same thing as Washing Soda, and probably less expensive.

Adding a 1/2 cup of vinegar to the rinse cycle of the wash cycle helps neutralize the soap residue left in fabrics from the wash cycle.

ZOTE has brightners in it to keep those whites looking white. Using Fels-Naptha, whites eventually start to look dingy (especially if you have hard water).

Homemade dry laundry soap recipes are made to be used in warm water not cold.  They  will not dissolve properly and don’t clean as well as they should if washed in cold water.
If you wash in only cold water, try a Liquid Homemade Laundry Soap Recipe.
