Ingredients:
1/4 teaspoon salt
3/4 cup white sugar
1 tablespoon butter
4 cups fresh blueberries
3 tablespoons cornstarch
1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
Directions:
Prep 15 minutes – Cook 50 minutes – Ready in 1 hour 5 minutes
1. Preheat oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).
2. Mix sugar, cornstarch, salt, and cinnamon, and sprinkle over blueberries.
3. Line pie dish with one pie crust (Pie Crust Recpe “HERE” http://www.simplyrecipes.com/recipes/perfect_pie_crust/). Pour berry mixture into the crust, and dot with butter. Cut remaining pastry into 1/2 – 3/4 inch wide strips, and make lattice top. Crimp and flute edges.
4. Bake pie on lower shelf of oven for about 50 minutes, or until crust is golden brown.
Tips for freezing: When doing so, add an extra tablespoon of flour in each planned pie when placing them on a sheet. Freeze them wrap it up with aluminum foil. Get an aluminum pie pan and wrap it twice in aluminum foil. While many suggest defrosting the blueberries, it is not necessary. Instead, put on an extra 20 minutes to the normal time to bake the pie. When it is ready to bake, start by heating the oven to 425 degrees. Get aluminum foil and wrap the edges to keep the pie’s edges from getting burned. Stick the pie for the first 15 minutes at that temperature, and then lower it to 375 degrees for another 45 minutes.
