Homemade Celery Powder

Do you end up throwing out the last part of a bunch od celery because you don’t get the whole thing used up fast enough? This has happened to me many time before. Now that I found this tutorial for making homemade celery powder I will never throw away another stalk of celery.

Homemade Celery Powder

These instructions are from The Humbled Homemaker, who walks us through turning our bunch of celery into celery powder. The celery powder can be used in pretty much any dish you would add celery to or any dish you might like a little taste of celery in. All you really need to make the celery powder is celery and a dehydrator. Then to make the powder you can use a blender or a spice grinder. With the tutorial she found that one bunch of celery made approximately 2 ounces of powder.

So if you use a lot of celery powder or find a good sale on celery you could make a lot of powder at one time and store it in an  airtight jar to keep it fresh. Once you have the powder made have a little fun trying it in a sandwich or sprinkle some n your mac and cheese. You never know where you might like a little flavor boost from celery powder.
