Homemade Chicken Marinade Frugal Recipes

1. Cilantro Lime Chicken Marinade

For one pound of chicken breast: take one tablespoon of olive oil, one tablespoon of lime juice, two teaspoons of honey, 1 clove of minced garlic, ¼ cup of chopped cilantro, and 1/8 teaspoon of salt. Put it all in a heavy-duty freezer bag and stick in the fridge for up to 24 hours to marinate. Freeze immediately.

2. Sweet Chili Chicken Marinade

For one pound of chicken breast: take one and a half teaspoons soy sauce, three tablespoons of sweet chili sauce, and two tablespoons water. Marinate up to 24 hours in the refrigerator.

3. Jerk Chicken Marinade

For one pound of chicken breast: take ½ teaspoon of dried thyme leaves, ½ teaspoon of ground allspice, 1 tablespoon of brown sugar, ¼ teaspoon of salt and pepper each, ¼ tablespoon of garlic powder, cinnamon, and cayenne each, 1 tablespoon of olive oil, and 1 tablespoon of lemon juice. Marinate up to 24 hours.

4. Lemon Ginger Chicken Marinade

For one pound of chicken breast: take one teaspoon of olive oil, one teaspoon of lemon juice and minced ginger, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, and, if desired, ⅛ teaspoon of red pepper flakes. Marinate up to 24 hours.

5. Soy Honey Garlic Chicken Marinade

For one pound of chicken breast:
Get one tablespoon of olive oil and soy sauce each, 2 tablespoons of honey and water each, and 1 clove garlic that is minced. Marinate up to 24 hours.

6. Curry Chicken Marinade

For one pound of chicken breast: get two teaspoons of yogurt, one teaspoon of lime juice and curry powder each, 1/8 teaspoon of salt, and ½ teaspoon of brown sugar. Marinate up to 24 hours.

7. Chipotle Lime Chicken Marinade

Get one tablespoon of olive oil and lime juice each, one teaspoon of adobo sauce and brown sugar each, one minced garlic clove, ¼ teaspoon of paprika, and ⅛ teaspoon of salt. Marinate up to 24 hours.

To bake: Heat oven to 425°F. Bake chicken in a shallow baking dish for 10 minutes, flip over, then bake for another 10 – 20 minutes.
