If you like chocolate and dulce de leche then you will love this dulce de leche swirled chocolate bread. This recipe is so delicious I am only sorry I never heard of it untill recently when I saw it on Roxana’s Home Baking. This stuff is so good I made it three times in two weeks. The bread is made with unsweetened cocoa and there is buttermilk in it which always makes things taste so rich. I will admit that I use a lot more of the dulce de leche that called for. I mean if I make from a can of condensed milk or buy a can of it and open it to make this bread and then only use part of it, what do I do with the rest other than eat it with a spoon which while I wouldn’t have a problem with that I don’t really want to replace my clothing because I out grew it from eating cans of condensed milk.
So I use it all in the recipe and share the calories with everyone else. I have also added chopped walnuts and chocolate chips to this bread. It comes out great with or without the add ins. Some times you feel like nuts and sometimes you don’t. I bake mine in the 9×13 pan instead of loaf pans because it seems to last a little longer. It is gone pretty quick no matter which pan or pans you use though. It is just so yummy.
