This Homemade Frugal Bed Frame Plywood DIY Project comes with detailed step by step instructions of how to create strong strudy bed frame that replaces the need for a boxspring while giving firm back support.
Only one piece of plywood is needed to build this and it will be inexpensive to do because this project only requires a saw and drill.
If in need of a bed and not in the need of following complex assemblies from bought stores, try this out. Buy the wood from Home Depot, Lowe’s or your local lumber yard and cut it up into these sizes: 1 piece 38 x 74 in, 2 pieces 5.5 x 74 in, 2 pieces 38 x 4 in., and 8 pieces 4 x 13 in. Paint the pieces into any color desired; then let it dry, and then construct together.
First, assemble the legs by noting where drilling will be at the base, drill out holes, and stick the longer rails parallel to the side.Screw the two sides together with a shorter piece that will be horizontal to them; cover the holes and screws with more paint. Having legs in the center for more supportcould be helpful to install. Next, screw the longer rails starting at the base and repeat with the shorter railings. Once they are all connected, turn over the bed and screw each leg at the corners to fit the legs on the railings’ inside walls.
If necessary, sand up each side (this really should be done first before construction) and give a second coat of paint to the entire frame. Make sure it is all stable and not loose before placing the mattress on the frame. Like that, the bed is build.
