Homemade Halloween Tin Can Glowing Luminaries Project

This step by step tutorial of how to make homemade Halloween tin can glowing luminaries project can be made from recycled material and simple hand tools found in your garage. As night falls, the glowing message of “Trick or Treat”, “Boo” or “Happy Halloween” will greet all the little costumed children as they walk up your porch stairs.

A small amount of effort and a slightly creative nature can make a very frugal Halloween decoration that has playful message displayed. Puncturing holes into metal can be scary but don’t be intimidated. Just use a pair of gloves to protect your hands if you are worried and go slowly.

There is a trick to making this craft project easier, fill it almost to the top with water and freeze overnight. Now hammering the holes into your can will be a lot easier. When you are finished, just run hot water inside the can to melt the ice.

Materials list needed for the project:
* Sharpie or marker in the same color as your paint
* Clean empty tin cans {I like to use the big coffee cans, any size will work}
* Hammer and large nail or awl
* Paint (black or orange)
* Paint brush
* Votive Candles, battery powered LED flameless candles or a glow stick
