We have to do the laundry whether we like it or not. In terms of soap, some homesteaders may not be happy with the manufactured kind due to large amount of strange chemicals. Some prefer to stick in a single serving size ball of laundry soap. It is fairly easy to make these laundry wash balls and make some to last a a couple months in less than an hour.

Get 1/2 cup of a grated soap bar, 1 1/2 cups of laundry soda, 2 tbsp of Epsom salts, 1/4 cup of vinegar, 3 tbsp of hydrogen peroxide, and any essential oil to add a scent into it.

1 1/2 cups laundry soda (Click here to buy)

2 tablespoons Epsom salts

1/4 cup vinegar

3 tablespoons hydrogen peroxide

30 drops of essential oil for scent (you can use multiple different essential oils to make your own signature scent) (Click here to buy)

*** Instructions

Grate the bar soap into a bowl.

Add laundry soda and Epsom salts.

Stir vinegar and hydrogen peroxide into the dry ingredients.

Pack laundry soap wash ball mixture into molds for different shapes or roll into small balls. Place onto parchment paper and allow to air dry.

With the soap, get a plant based soap, something with a special scent to it, and grate it like cheese into a bowl. Add the cleaning power and Epsom salts inside. Next, stir the hydrogen peroxide and white vinegar, along with a tbsp of essential oil. With the contents, pour into a mould that shapes it in a tablet and let it dry for a day. With this amount, between 25 to 30 tablets can be produced.

Makes approximately 28 laundry soap wash balls. Make a couple batches or more while you have all the ingredients out on the counter top.
