Homemade Lemon Curd Recipe
This delicious homemade lemon curd recipe is a zesty creamy dessert that can be eaten by the spoonful or used as a topping over cake, ice cream, cookies or even golden brown toast.
Lemon curd is traditionally served along side bakery desserts at tea time but we live in informal times so it can be enjoyed at anytime of the day. Goodie for us !
The Homestead Survival
Ingredients:
8 Egg Yolks
3/4 c. Sugar
6 Tbsp Butter
1 Tbsp Lemon Powder ( You Can Buy It Here)
1 tsp. Almond Extract
1/2 cup Fresh Lemon Juice
4 tsp. Fresh Lemon zest
Directions:
Using a double broiler, bring water to a boil.Then reduce heat to med./low and add all ingredients and whisk until thickens.
About 3-4 minutes. Remove from heat, allow to cool before storing in a glass mason jar. Refrigerates up to 3 weeks.
