If you like to bake cookies for Christmas you might want to add these awesome strawberry thumbprint cookies for Christmas this year. They are totally delicious. You can choose other flavors of jam or add different ones along with some made with the strawberry for an assortment, my favorite is black raspberry.

These cookies are not hard to make but they do take a little time because the dough needs to be well chilled. If you are like me and always double or triple the recipe when making Christmas cookies, then I would split the dough going into the fridge into two or three containers. That way when you pull out one to start baking cookies the rest of the dough will keep chilling in the fridge till you are ready for it. This recipe comes from Swanky Recipes and I love that it has both vanilla and almond extract, it gives the cookies a lot of flavor before the jam is even added.
These would make a great cookie for a cookie exchange, especially if you used two or three different flavors of jam. Not only would it look pretty but it would add more than one flavor to the recipients cookie tray.
