How A Couple Went From $42,000 to $6,500 And Moved To The Country

This is a great story by a fellow that lost many jobs over the years. He and his wife decided to change the way they lived and so they left the city and bought 2 and a half acres in the country. They were very broke so the lived in their dome tent while building a 10 by 12 room with sleeping loft. They changed everything about their lives. Where they lived, what they ate so they could be healthier and not need medicines or doctors all the time. Eventually they managed to build a cabin. He took what ever work he could find while his wife grew the gardens and planted both fruit trees and medicinal plants.

They began building a three room cabin and installing the underground cistern for rainwater. Using the book Your Money or Your Life they managed to reduce their money needs to a little over 500 dollars per month. He knew he could earn that with part time jobs but he loved baking and he built an outdoor clay oven to bake his sour dough bread in. The bread was a hit. This is a fantastic story from Survival Spot that would offer encouragement to folks that have been left behind by jobs closing down and no new ones opening up and for other folks that may just be sick of the rat race and want a different lifestyle. The story is long to read but there is much great advise for anyone even thinking about trying to live a life of independence away from the 9 to 5.
