This simple tutorial of how to make a mosaic table top from old Cds is a great way to upgrade a worn table into a unique shinny layer creativity. A rainbow of colors with be reflected as sunlight moves across the table.
Materials:
-
Pile of old scratched CD’s
-
Krylon Crystal Clear Gloss
-
Scissors
-
Table (hopefully fabulous thrift store find)
-
1 – 2 Clear Waterproof Silicone Tubes
Instructions:
-
Use scissors to cut CD’s into medium size pieces. It’s a good idea to wear eye protection while cutting the CD in case any of the pieces fly up.
-
I realized quickly that the beautiful shiny stuff e CD’s will wear away if you don’t protect it. So I spray the individual pieces of cut up CD’s with a coat of Krylon Crystal Clear Gloss spray paint. Let pieces dry thoroughly.
-
Use a small dab (half of a dime) of clear waterproof silicone and press one medium CD piece onto the table. Repeat in a random pattern.
