How to Make an Old Fashioned Mason Jar Sewing Kit

We have to admit the Mason jars attract most of us to them because they have some many different uses. The Anthropologie Mason Jar Sewing Kit is unfortunately over-priced and out of stock most of the times. My grandmother made the exact same thing for under 5 dollars! So homesteaders who are passionate about sewing themselves are driven by their love for these Mason jars sewing kits, decide to make them at home.

The basic supplies that are needed for making Mason jar sewing kit included:

• Mason jar
• Cotton Balls
• Hot Glue Gun
• Fabric
• Sewing supplies to go inside.

The procedure is simple, clean and easy. Start with cutting a circle of fabric about an inch and a half larger than the lid and tug and blend your cotton balls to make a wad. Place the cotton wad on the fabric and the lid bottom side up on top of the cotton wad. Using the hot glue gun, glue the fabric to the inside of the lid. Carefully sort the pleated fabric and pop the pin cushion lid through the band. Fill your jar with all of your supplies, and screw on the lid. Add a label if you please, and then you are done.

If you want to give it a little extra flair, try using colored mason jars:
