When you are warned of an impending crisis, you begin to plan your bug out plan. The most important part of your plan should be your emergency kit. This kit should contain items that are important to the survival of your family.

It is unfortunate that this is where people usually get it wrong. Your emergency kit can only be useful if it contains the right items. The idea of an emergency kit is to pack the most important items without which you can’t survive.

If you keep packing everything that comes to your mind, at some point you will realize that you are already emptying your house into the kits. And if the items are too few, they may not be enough for your survival. Since most crises are either temporarily resolved or fully resolved within 72 hours, your emergency kit should contain all what will sustain you for three days.

An ideal emergency kit should contain first aid items, canned foods, water purifiers and some other useful tools. What you should consider is the type of crisis that is being expected. Is it a natural disaster that needs you to evacuate your family or an energy crisis that will affect your power supply? Please go through the tips below and you will be better prepared for any emergency. Information is indeed, power. Please don’t forget to share it.
