Inexpensive DIY Water Storage Tank
If you need a water storage tank on your place check out this inexpensive diy water storage tank. Instead of paying hundreds of dollars for a galvanized 1000 gallon or bigger tank learn how to build this one for a fraction of that price.
The tank should last for years and will be great for getting water to animals or the garden. I think kids could even play in it. The one in the picture is a 3′ X 10′, 1,762-gallon tank and to build this one you will need. ” a 3′ X 50′ roll of 14-gauge, 2″ X 4″ welded wire, a roll of 3′-wide, 30-pound organic asphalt roofing felt (don’t use roll roofing, which has a coating of rough pebbles on one side), a 20′ X 100′ roll of 4-mil black Visqueen plastic, and in case you don’t already have them, some washed sand and a short length of stiff wire or coat hanger.” Add in your time and effort and you will have your tank for very little cost ans that will last for years.
These are so cheap to make that you could make more than one if you needed them. Or make one for garden and animal use and another for the kids to play in. You could cut a slit in pool noodles to put along the top for the pool. To keep mosquitos at bay either add some goldfish or you can buy mosquito dunks to toss in. You would need to use a pump to change the water in the pool but it might be worth it for the savings. You can get all of the instructions from Mother Earth News.
